How scoring works
A single suspicious signal is usually nothing. Someone typing in capitals is not a scammer. Someone typing in capitals, pinging everyone, and posting an image with a Nitro link probably is.
So each message is scored against every pattern you have enabled, the scores add up, and the total decides what happens. That is why the highest scores come from messages that trip several patterns at once rather than from any single one.
The patterns
Ten, each carrying its own weight:
- Higher weight — Nitro scams, Steam gift scams, prize and giveaway scams, crypto scams, mass-ping spam.
- Medium weight — image scams, image-only posts, excessive repetition, suspicious links.
- Lower weight — excessive capitals.
Tick the ones you want. If you select none, all of them are enabled — an empty selection means "no preference", not "check nothing".

Leave this on. The image scam and the link inside it are usually the same message, and checking only the visible text misses half of it.
Sensitivity
One setting moves every threshold at once.
- Low — a message needs several patterns to agree before anything happens. Quietest, and misses the most.
- Medium — a reasonable default for most servers.
- High — a single high-weight match is enough to flag. Catches the most, and produces the most false alarms.
This also governs the thresholds for logging, so turning it down makes your channel quieter as well as the enforcement gentler.
Channel and alert role
Where detections are logged, and optionally a role to mention for the highest-scoring messages. Both optional, both recommended — a detection nobody reads is a detection that changes nothing.
Safe roles
Members holding these roles are never checked for spam.
This is a separate list from the Moderators on the Security page. Filling in one does not fill in the other. That is deliberate — the people you trust not to impersonate a moderator are not necessarily the same people you want exempt from spam scoring — but it does mean you have to set both if you want both.
Whitelist
Specific user IDs that bypass detection entirely, comma or newline separated. Enable Developer Mode in Discord's advanced settings, then right-click a member to copy their ID.
Free and Pro
Detection and logging are free on every server. What Pro adds is acting on a detection — deleting the message and timing the author out. A free server sees everything and does nothing automatically, which is a reasonable place to start regardless of tier.
